Track times from last night.

I was running consistent 8.5s all motor. (cant afford nitrous right now)
Made 4 passes and my belt tensioner BROKE in half. My belt was found on the track in one piece. I knew something was wrong when i had no power brakes or powersteering at the end of the track. Luckily I only live a mile from the local track and had an extra tensioner at the house with a bad pulley. But it was enough to get my car home without over heating.

My best time being a 8.520 @ 81.716 mph with a 1.806 60 ft. and a 5.481 half track. I ran two more 8.5 with the tire pressure at 14 and 15 psi. First pass was with 20 psi and i spun and ran a 8.6 with a 2.0 60 ft, lol. I love these new et streets. Hooks very close to the slicks I had. I think I ran 8.47 with all out slicks before the rearend broke. I cant wait to add nitrous.:rock: And I did add the roll cage since I ran on slicks. But i had the skinny's on. I was getting better and better when the tensioner broke. Prolly could have ran an 8.4 as the night went on. It sucks to break with only 4 passes. :yell:

i had a similar story but i shredded my belt up in irwindale thats about an hour and a half from san diego, luckly there was enough belt to make it home on, but anyways do you think you can launch harder for a better 60' ? That thing has more in just on motor alone if i would guesstimate i can see a 8.3 on motor with a hard launch....

yeh, i was launching around 5500. I would getting higher. Started out at 4500 and was getting higher. It felt like it was spinning when it when a 1.8. I know i can pull a 1.7 then get my time to a lower 8. Then add spray and hold on, and maybe get closer to a mid 7. That cage helps stiffen everything up. Ive got sub frames at the house to install, Then gotta get away from stock supension. I wannt get what orange just installed on his fox.

i just wanna ask. Do yall think 8.3 to 8.4 is good for a 4.6 with stock pi heads and stock suspension is good. Cams is the only big thing. Just bolt ons. I wanna get the trick flow heads and 7's all motor. (THERE I GO DREAMING AGAIN...LOL)

oh yea, i'm probably on my 5th tensioner assy so far. I cant keep mine from bending and breaking. even on the street.


Do they make and upgrade for our cars?

yeh, for like $200, its UNBREAKABLE! Ive done a 8.4 all motor. Hoping for better. Ill upload a pic later today.
Im running 15 et streets. Just broke em in last night

Ive found those tensioners, but they only list for s197s only. sucks!


And i'm definitly going to put some ET streets on my 16" rims next time I run at the track. I want something better than a drag radial. lol

thing is I'm scared to do any thing but street tires untill i have clip elims and 3.73's

I am too. Ive went through two rearends, but bc ive ran slicks. Not gonna do that anymore. I've stronger axles. Im going to go c-clip with locker when I can afford it.

Nice runs man. No video? 8.4-8.5 is real good for that motor. It has more in it with some suspension mods. Those uppers are definitely worth the $260. I wish I would have known about those years ago.
