You know why, don't you? If I put it on (connected to the hinges), then I can't use the car cover on the car. The soft paint will end up with a pattern in it from the cover. Made that mistake a LONG time ago!

I was really happy when it was on during the test fit and it was still white. I was so jazzed with the look, the great fit and profile, I couldn't wait to get it painted. That's pretty much the reason I decided to paint it myself instead of a local shop where a friend of mine works. The ONLY reason I was going to farm it out to him was I wasn't sure how my knee surgery recover would go. With friends carrying the hood back and forth for me, it made it a lot easier. That's why you see me sitting while I was sanding. I was keeping weight off the knee.

Today's painting could have been done faster if I was in better health (knee-wise) and in less pain. I took lots of breaks, drank TONS of water and relaxed here and there, checked on the NASCAR race in Michigan, blah blah blah. But I got it done. Had I farmed it out, I would be seeing it until NEXT week and although I preach patience....well, you're right. I can't WAIT to get it on the car. But that's a few weeks away. Between now and then, I will "set" it on and see how it looks and snap off a few pics.

Heres some more pics of those louver I ordered from Trufiber. They just came in today!
Just need to cut my hood and get them painted. Im going to have the shop that does it roll the edges of the cut outs so the vents set flush on the hood. I still need to pull the mat off the bottom of the hood to see if any supports will need to be altered to fit the vents.

I want to try and get them done before Fun Ford Weekend. But, if I end up having to cut into cross braces under the hood that probably wont happen.

Why? Were not about who has the nicest car or anything like that. Thats why the only thing you need to be a member is a Mustang. Not a magazine cover car or an 8 sec dragster. Its all about fun, friendship and enjoying our cars.
