It was the same shop that did the body work when I got rearended. They also did my rear window louvers and shaved my gas cap and third brake light. They (Above and Beyond in Visalia, Ca) are a good shop, I am thinking that they just didnt want the job. Or maybe it is harder than I think it is... Who knows. I am thinking I am going to pick up another stock hood from e-bay or craigs list that way I can drive my car while I take my time working on the other hood.

Interesting. Sounds like they priced it extremely high to dissuade you because they didn't want to do it. (Like you said) With a price THAT high, they would take it on because if they butchered your hood, there's enough profit in their price to buy another hood (or two). Hell, for that mony, you could buy the whole hood with the vents already installed AND painted.

A second hood and practicing is a good idea. Hardcore Mustangs in Lakeside has a whole room of used hoods, some as low as $50. 90% of the 05 and up. They're not my favorite place to buy parts but a bargain is a bargain. Obviously a little too far for you to go.

Yeah Im sure I can find one up here for pennies as well. So many people opt for fiberglass hoods they sell their stockers for dirt cheap. I think I am also going to hold out for a black one and maybe I wont even have to repaint it LOL!

JOE if your intrested I will sell you my hood cheap when i get my other one on car. Like 20$ and u pick up unless we are coming to lemoore for something and I will bring it along
