NEED HELP WITH X PIPE. I GOT MY BASSANI O/R X PIPE IN AND TOOK IT TO THE HOBBY SHOP ON BASE THINKING THAT I COULD HAVE IT ON IN NO TIME AND THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. I GOT EVERY NUT OFF EXCEPT THE ONE RIGHT ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADER. LEMME TELL YOU IT IS A PAIN. IT IS INBETWEEN THE STARTER, THE TRANNY THE A ARM AND THE FREAKING BODY. ANYWAYS I WAS HAVING A HELL OF A TIME TRYING TO GET AT THIS DAMN NUT THEN SOME DUDE CAME OVER. HE CLAIMED THAT HE USED TO BE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC BEFORE HE JOINED THE NAVY AND ME BEING SOO PISSED OFF LET THE GUY HELP. WELL HE USED A SWIVEL HEAD SOCKET EXTENSION A FREAKING IMPACT WRENCH AND A TITANIUM 15mm IMPACT SOCKET. NEEDLESS TO SAY HE TURNED A 6 SIDED NUT INTO A CIRCLE. NOW THERE IS NO WAY TO GET THIS DAMN THING OFF. I WAS GOING TO KILL HIM BUT DUDE SPLIT BEFORE I NOTICED. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. I AM SO PISSED. F-ING BOX SAYS 30-45 MIN JOB. YEAH RIGHT.

AND JOE... THAT IS WHY I DIDNT MAKE IT WAL MART LAST WEEK. SORRY DUDE. I TRIED TO CALL YOU AS SOON AS I GOT THE H PIPE BACK ON.

wow sorry to hear that. Find another socket that you don't mind distroying. And force it on the striped bolt hammer it on what ever you have too to get it on. And slowly torque it off...

i would but the damn thing is soooooo hard to get to and is at such a bad angle it is almost impossible to get to. and i dont want to have to take it to a shop and pay ten thousand dollars to have them do it. or even worse pull the engine.

Man, go to Sears and get yourself a set of those stripped nut/bolt removal sockets. I had a header stud chew up on me in my '06's aluminum head and thise thing worked great.

You should have gave me a call bro, i would have come help. Im only free on the weekends my weeks are full beyond belief! I would have just taken a blow torch to the damn thing, then knocked it off... But i would go with Wind's idea.

well you see the thing is i was going to take a torch to it but however, first off i dont think that a torch would even fit in there to get to it second prolly torch either the starter, the "A" arm, fender well, engine, header or even the frame. trust me it is a bit@h. Joe well im on nights over here. um i get thurs-sat off. i might go to sears to get one of those things that wind was talking about thurs and if you wanna help dude that would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was soooo pissed!!!!!!!!!!! f-ing box says 30-45 mins. yeah right. with a blow torch maybe.

Windveil has the right idea. I have a screwout and bolt remover kidt they work great... for 20$ its well worth the money
