[Jul 22, 2012] Main Street America Car Show (San Diego, CA)

I received the following email from the organizer of the show. This is a good show to attend and I enjoyed it in the past. It is at the same place as Mustangs by the Bay, so everyone know its beautiful there. The show runs from 10-3pm. Check in is 8-10am but reserved spot must check in before 9am. If anyone is interested and wants more information and a registration form, they can be obtained at the link: http://www.cocsd.com/UpcomingEvents.html

Dear car enthusiast,

On Sunday, July 22, the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego will be hosting the

"Main Street America”
People's Choice Charity Car Show at Embarcadero Park North, near
Seaport Village. As a past participant, I want to thank you for helping us raise funds for a
wonderful local organization, the San Diego Center for the Blind. All net proceeds from
this year’s show will once again benefit the Center.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED!
We will not accept day-of show registrations. Your registration must be postmarked no later than Saturday, July 14. Once you have registered, you are guaranteed a reserved parking space as long as you
arrive at the show site by 9:00 am. Please note that on the registration form you may
choose to be parked with the other vehicles in your class, OR with your club, OR with
another registered participant. Please place a check next to your choice or give me the
name of your registered friend.
Please make only one choice. I will make an attempt to place all vehicles from one club together within a class, but we will guarantee only the one selection you make. If you wish to be parked with your club or with a friend, you do not have to send your registrations in together.

This is a true "people's choice" show. All registrants and their guests will receive a
ballot. We also will hand out 300 ballots to spectators. We will accept only one marked
ballot per person. We will present two trophies in each class, plus sponsor awards, a club
participation award and a best-of-show award.
Members of the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego will not be competing for the show
awards.
As always, we will be holding a huge raffle during the show, with over 100 prizes worth
thousands of dollars.
Confirmations will be emailed to all registrants.
For additional event information, or if you would like additional flyers, or would like me
or one of my compatriots to give a (very) short presentation to your club or group, please
contact me at your convenience. Thanks again!

This is a great show, which I usually attend as a spectator. We must pre-register for this one ($25), which we can do through this Saturday the 14th. While this is a people's choice show, and they do have a modern pony class, I don't need no stinkin' plastic trophy to have a good time!

Let's roll deep to this, and show those Chevy folks what a great group of modern muscle owners who aren't afraid to modify their cars looks like! We have had spectacular turnouts recently, at Kearney Pearson, at CCC open house, and again yesterday at Cops and Rodders. Let's keep the ball rolling!

Less than 1 week from the registration deadline and there are NO Wicked Stangs registered? Are you really going to let the Camaros dominate Pony Car classes at this show?

Your $25 registration fee includes one lunch and a RESERVED spot, so you don't have to show up at the crack of dawn. You don't have to all drive in at the same time - just mark "by car club" on the form and you will all get parked together, no matter when you arrive. No other show offers that convenience. We have a HUGE raffle, with close to 100 prizes (no cheap stuff), including a $750 Bridgestone/Firestone gift certificate, 3 nights at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, and lots of local restaurant gift certs.

There is NO day-of -show registration, because we usually sell out and will not squeeze cars in. It isn't fair to those who take the time to pre-register.

We get well over 1000 spectators for the show. Your Mustang will be seen! We also distribute 300 ballots to spectators, so it is a true "people's choice" event.

BTW - the point on the map at the top of this thread is incorrect. We're at Embarcadero Park North, which is adjacent to Seaport Village (at the top of the map). Drive south on Kettner until you run out of road.

how do we register?

Go to the link in Danny's post at the top of the page to download the flyer. Mail in the tear-off at the bottom with your check by Sat. and you're good to go. You will get a confirmation. If you have a problem with the link, you can email me at cjm63sw@cox.net and I'll email you back with a copy of the reg. form attached.

I'd really like to go, but I'm doing the Simson's one in Jamul this weekend. And this would be my 4 car show this month. My wife is already getting on me for going to so many. I'd love to go but......
