I will never claim to know anything about politics and I understand why you military folks get upset because Republicans always try to raise pay in the military etc, etc., but do you really think that McCain was a good choice for president? If his old ass died would you want some dimwitted slut running this country?

Don't take this the wrong way, but you NAVY guys aren't on the ground in Iraq or Afhganistan. I have many friends who died over there and many that can't answer what the actual mission is over there when they return. Do you really think that you can get rid of all of the terrorists in the middle east? That's like saying you are going to arrest every gangbanger in the United states.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with any of you because I realize how strongly you feel about this, but none of you are on the ground over there wondering WTF your doing there. You are all acting like Mini George W. 's. Like this is a chess game and the pieces are expendable.

I was in The Marine Corps Infantry for 6 years and although I agreed with Afghanistan I think that Iraq was one mans greed. I am happy that Saddam is dead, but it's time to bring the boys home. They are on an endless mission.

You guys are wrong for even speaking of dishonor and those men in the same sentence. Whether war was wrong or right doesn't matter. Those men fought for their country and will always be remembered as heroes by the American people no matter what.

All I'm saying is give it a chance to unfold. Look on the bright side.............If it doesn't work out we will only have to deal with it for 4 years and then we can elect another war monger.

I don't think anyone on this site is saying we are dishonoring those who paid the ultimate price for this country. I believe they are saying the people going in the white house and those supporting Obama will call the Iraq war a mistake and those that paid the price will be link to it and not being seen as heros. Most of us on this site are either active, retired, or former military. So, saying dishonor to those who perished are last thing on our mind. IMO.

BTW, Orange,not all Navy stay on ships. We do have people on the ground. Don't forget the corpman with the Marines, the SEALs, Navy pilot acting as forward air control, and other personnel that do support ground ops. So, please, don't generalize the Navy.
