with the hard to shift part it could be a bent shift fork. the last cobra i had, had that prob it wah hard enought to shift that i the fastest the car would run was 9.4-9.5's in the 8th and after 8.8-9.0's.

i checked the cable at the tranny, it looked good, i will check it at the pedal tonight. im just wondering why it would work better after the car has been running for awhile. i was thinking something to do with the transmission warming up or something, but i really have no idea. thanks for all the good info, i will get it checked out asap.
When was the last time it had a fluid change? Just throwing that out there.

tremec started using ATF in their trans sometime in the early 90's. i called JBA and verrified. i was right.

Truly you should never have to change the oil in a manual tranny, but it's always a good idea if you are not the original owner of the car just to be on the safe side.

not true if your synchros grind alot you wanna change it out to eliminate shavings

i do mine yearly because im over protective of my baby. i change all the fluids reg. oil every 2500-2700 everything royal purple
If your synchros grind alot you should fix the tranny not keep changing fluid. LOL
