i dont know man, i think nitrous is weak. now if youve got a car that makes 400-500 hp an dthen you add nos thats different. i think the "ive got a stock motor but i threw on a wet shot" i think thats garbage and when guys like that blow their engines i feel a little bit better about making "real" power, "all" the time. not necessarily knocking it, but when nitrous can account for over 80% of your hp gains, thats weak and an easy way out.i could have got the same hp as my kb by buying a 100 shot of nitrous for 6-700 bucks, then i would have all that power, sometimes. i just dont get it.

no2 is a good cooling agent. its not a fuel, and its relativly inexpensive. now i will never run it i believe in making real power as well but not all of us is big ballin enough to throw on a KB or a whipple w/ supporting mods to achieve 5-600 horses.

yes and no the torque comes from the denser air charge and the extra oxygen atoms provided from no2. no2 also is an anti detoning agent as well so with the more dense oxygen the nitrous keeps the pistons from being thrown out the block.

I totaly disagree... Guys think about the 60-70's when having a blower was only if you had a funny car or somthing. A power adder is a power adder! I would never tell someone hey take off your blower and I will race you or he unbolt that turbo ect. I know everyone has there prefrence though and opinion. Most of you guys though are no better than me though with your blowers. I spent 600$ give or take and you spent around 6000$ or somwhere in that ballpark. Correct? Now I have stock internals just like most of you as far as I know but I could be wrong right... there is nothing diffrent but the power adder of choice. My car is set up for the kit I am running. I went with the colder spark plugs and backed my timing off 2 degrees. You went with the blower and added a custom tune. If I go and add a larger shot say 250 with out building my bottom end then of course I will blow the moter. If you go in an say change pullys, injectors, and add a nasty tune you will blow your engine as well. Its the same thing in my book. I mean we all agree wikedroush has a nasty car that puts down good numbers 500+ to the tires is very impresive. That is on a very moderate tune if he throws a good tune on there what will happen? Probaly the sae thing as if I go and throw some 250 jets in my car. Power adder is a power adder its just choice.
I will be geting a extra 3 vlv block right after FFW and begin the tear down. I have already been looking for internals ect. When I add a S/C to mine I want to be able to throw that custom tune, NOS, ect at the block and have no worries :)

an 8.60 at barona? that i will agree. mine are all qualcomm times and again not making a single excuse but on street tires i will slide a **** ton more than you. dude im not getting into a pissing contest. its my opinion, i have no respect for the nitrous route. its a pep boys mod. real mods make real power all the time. do what makes you happy, you could run a 6 on nos and i will probably say so what. personally i got a friend with a z28 with a stock ls1 that runs an 8.20 at qualcomm on drag radials. no nos, suspension, torque converter, 3.73s, built the right way, a car like that demands respect.

and my point is if you ran enough nos to match wckdroushes numbers, nobody would say they are equal. im not knocking, im just saying it doesnt impress me and i wont even acknowledge it. i know too many clowns, no one in particular, who buy nitrous to make up for everything their car lacks. instead of using it as a finishing touch on an impressive car. i met a guy with a trans am that made 445hp and like 525ftlbs of torque on juice, off motor he made 330 and like 375ftlb. what numbers do you think i rate his car at? im just saying man. im not poking fun at you or anything im just saying i dont believe in it.

also doing the math if you went from a 9.2 at the q to an 8.60 at barona that puts me in 7s on my nittos and mid 7s on slicks. i need to get down there.

I feel you MAV.. I feel the same way about the guys with older GT's that throw on a s/c. I will say this though the only way to go really is from ground up. Boring and porting all the way. I had a 302 that windveil built that was close to 400HP all moter. It had good intake and carb with porting on heads. I think hp is made from heads up anyway. My buddy back home has a fox that has been ported/ bored with S/C and I seen 900+rwhp
