Valid arguement, but you are taking on someone elses project buying a built car. Cobra would be more comfortable, be STREET LEGAL, and in my opinion is one of the best looking mustangs ever produced. I do love my foxes, but i want to pick up a white 03 Cobra.

don't get me wrong i would love to have a 03-04 cobra myself, i am arguing the statement that a termi is the best bang for the buck option.

i have seen that 93 cobra in person and seen it run at sac raceway, its a beautiful car and very well built, if i had $13,000 i would be all over it, stock 93's go for almost as much.

what i was getting at is the platform is already there. the amount of money you put in a cobra nd the performance gains you get out of it is unheard of. and you still got ac, power brakes, steering, micro suede seats and hit the 1/4 mile in 12.8 stock and the 1/8th at 8.1 full weight. then leave the track and go hit up the twisties. best all around bang for the buck.

i see your point and i respect that, i am just saying the same can be had in a fox for 1/2 the price and have all the same amenity's, but it all comes down to personal preference i suppose. hell there both built on basically the same platform, i can take your rear irs and pretty much bolt it into my 30 yr old pace car lol, actually something i might do to my wife's 86 convertible.

ya sorry about that, anyways back on topic, what are you looking to do with the car? just a fun street car? street/strip? autox/track days? any horsepower goals? are you wanting to dig in with a hci swap? or just looking for the easy bolt on stuff for now?

I just want a fun street car with bolt on's. I would like to be around 275 hp at the wheels.

Heads, cam, and intake with a full exhaust and 4.10s would be the way to go then.

I would have to say that dual exhaust and 4:10 gears is a good start. All bolt on and both needed for future mods.

all the usual bolt on's, explorer intake with a tmoss ported lower, gt40's, 1.7rr with the stock cam will get you in that range, if you have the dough a custom cam would be a great addition.

All that with a 2500-3000 stall, a good shift kit(or a 5spd swap!), 410's and some suspension work will make a very fun street car and not break the bank.

275whp isn't going to happen with the stock e7 heads with just bolt on's, unless you bolt on a power adder.

I am going to do the gears first and then I have to put a new top on it and that is about 800. Once that is all done I am doing the heads, intake and cam.

If thats all the power you plan on making, Trickflow sells a complete heads, cam, and intake combo that consistently makes 300hp on a bolt on car. No mix matching parts or wondering if this cam goes with the heads you bought. Takes the guesswork out of it. I would look into that. And just talk to Todd (CWO) about gears, hopefully we can get another WS big install day between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

thats a good kit, i have trickflow T/W's and stage 1 cam going in my pace car very soon, but at $2500+ not everybody can do that at once, that gt40 combo can be done for less than $1000 with a frugal shopper.

but if you can afford it definitely go with some better aluminum heads, just watch your cam selection, heavy convertible+AOD+cam that's soft below 3000rpm's=a car thats not much fun to drive around town.:ballchain:
