Well i will be gone for almost the entire month of June. And since it was my orriginal idea and i set the first one up i think it would be kinda jacked up to snake this one and set it up to where i wouldnt even be able to make it.... Not trying to bitch or complain but i still would have liked to set it up myself. I talked about it for about a year to see if anyone would go for it no one did so i took it. My plans fell through due to Whipple ( not my fault) and now im out of the loop. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, Venom should be the one setting this up. He did get this going the last time and he should be able to get the next one planned and should be there.

I don't have a problem with letting Venom set it up.
We were discussing the best time, that's all.

As for the SD folks, I think all we really have to do is wait for the green light since we already have a route/itinerary planned out.

I think it should be exactly however Venom originally planned it and also take into consideration when the best time is for those wanting to attend or who CAN attend, weather and any other considerations. Of course, plan it so YOU can attend also. When suggesting cooler months later on in the year, there is no way anyone could possibly know whether Venom was going to be in town or not.

Fresno is one HOT SOB town in June, July, Aug, Sept and sometimes well past that. Why drive through the desert and risk overheating...If you DON'T HAVE TO?

Let the people who burned their last favors, vacation time or sick time up for the cancelled trip have a few months to earn a few vacation days off or like me, get in good with the "Boss Lady" enough to bargain for another "trip".

This allows all of us to save up for the trip. Some members for the last scheduled trip had unforseen last minute expenses and were questionable at the last moment and weren't sure if they could actually go. Planning 4-5 months out from now gives everyone time to sock away for the trip or to buy something from Whipple when they get there.

Driving through the desert in sweltering heat with kids in the back whining....Not my idea of a dream trip.

Let's give Mike and the Whipple crew a TON of lead time and let them put on a spread worthy of Wickedstangs and if we take our time and plan this right, it will be ten times better than what we WERE gonna have a week ago. This time will be a no-brainer since all the legwork is done.

I like this and gives me some time to get things on my end together so Myz and I can make it

Not trying to put anyone one out of the loop.... Just throwing ideas for dates out there. Thats all this thread was for. Just wanted to get everyones thoughts on when to try and do this again. No one said anything about it after Whipple cancelled on us. So, I took it upon myself to throw some Ideas for dates out. No matter when we do this someone is not going to be here or wont be able to go. Venom, i agree it was your Idea to do this so you should definitly be there.... if we do it in the fall, Myself, Trouble ( Lamar), and laughingGT will not be here we wil be on cruise. If the general consenses is for the fall then lets do it then. but, lets talk to Whipple soon and get their input. we will tell them we would like to do it later in the year when it cools off a little and see what they say. Sound good??

I don't know if it matters but some businesses have busier than normal seasons and if Whipple has times like this, we would do well NOT to intrude or impose during one of those times. So, those of you who did all the tremendous legwork in the first go-round might want to address this when you re-establish contact with Mike. It may not even be an issue, but if they have a heavy season or high-production period, it might be tougher on them if we were to plan our trip at the same time. Just a thought....

Im not trying to say that anyone was trying to snake it from me. There were just talks of p.m.ing mike and everything and imo i think it would be jacked up if i were not able to be there. I understand that if we wait until Fall all of my boys will be gone on the boat and i dont want it to be that far out. And i know what your saying when you say that some people are not going to be able to make it. But being that i though of this over a year ago and threw the idea out there at a club meeting and no one ever did anything about it so i finally did and it was cancelled ( once again out of my control) it would just be wrong if it happened while i was gone.

If there are any plans of going just wish i could be included in the planning before it was posted on the forums or something but if someone else thinks they can do it better or something by all means hit it up. i'll give who ever mikes phone number, e-mail or whatev...

Well there shouldnt be anyone wondering weather or not i will be here or not because i was the one who started this whole thing. And if i were still the one taking this on then hell yeah you bet your sweet ass i would be there. And Tim i understand that it needs to be planned around when the other members are availiable to make it but if i am still running the whole thing then weather or not someone can make it, it is going to be scheduled to where i can be there as well. So there should be no confusion as to whether or not i would or wouldnt be in town.

Sounds like everyone still wants the Whipple tour to happen. As a "CLUB", I believe that the fall is the best answer. The race car is a major factor in this decision and there are plans in the making for an improved motor. I want the car to hit the track, show our current and future sponsors that we are serious and then progress from that point.

By the fall, the new (Top Secret) motor will be worthy of anything Whipple can strap to the intake.

If there aren't any objections, Venom will remain the lead on this tour and coordinate the tour/meeting with Whipple Industries in Late September/Early October time frame. We'll never be able to get everyone to every event, but this will be a good time to travel to Fresno and give everyone an opportunity to adjust schedules.

As for all the posts, I'm glad to see everyone is working to make this event happen once again. Usually, someone is butt hurt by this point and flying off the handle. Keep up the good work and let us press forward.
