Did ALOT of trouble shooting today, The ECU is not screwing up coils, cause I have swapped all of them around and still...same effect

Long story short, I have a miss in cylinders 1 and 6. Changed Coils...No effect, I have checked the entire harness for obvious breaks. Checked the resistance at each coils connector, Checked just about every ground in the engine bay along with the Computer ground. Even Checked the Ground/Spike Absorbers on the back of each Head with known good ones. Die electrical grease on all the connectors.

Tomorrow Im going to run my own wire from each of the coils then to the ECU to bypass and trouble shoot all of the harness.

I have pretty much troubleshooted everything I can think of, And If its the coil driver on the ecu, I'm going to have to get a new ECU.

Unless any one has any other Ideas, or has seen this before. Its not 100% constant, but once every few seconds at Idle, and through out the RPM band. This car is driving me NUTs, Its ready to make some serious power but I have this **** electrical gremlin.

another thing to check is your timing wheel on the crank... possibly its messed up. Hell i dunno

personally i would search down anything in common with those two cylinders and go from there... however getting into the ecu is pretty Ford classified.

gufi, it wouldnt be the timing wheel,,, its a single vain activated wheel!!! you dont even need the whole wheel for it to work,,, just the master spline!! all it does is tell the ecu where the crank sits. so as long as your getting spark,,, thats not it!! probably not it, but how do your injectors look on 1& 6?? maybe theyre clogged a bit!! like i said probably not!! but its worth lookin at right!!

It's electrical. Fuel injectors won't fry coils.

Dont think it was frying coils, cause I swapped a bunch of coils around yesterday, and its just 1 and 6...

But on another note, car started this morning, then died...and will not start at all....yay for me.:nonono:

So I guess I was dreaming when I read this since you are not burning up coils.

Well, I found the problem... #6 Coil is burned up...got so hot it started to melt the epoxy it was encased in...smelt like an electrical fire

Also, on another note, I think im going to have to dig through my harness because I think I have an electrical problem leading to me screwing up my coils...we will see come Friday and Sat.....Im pretty sure I just screwed up some more coils!:nonono:

That turned out to be cylinder number 7, and it has not been an issue since i replaced the weaponX coil.

Its does not appear to be burning coils, because the ones that are not sparking...spark in the other cylinders

if you wanted to borrow my ecu,,, you could,,, but i would beed it back asap!!

i wasnt refering to the coils burnin up because of the injectors, but the clogged injectors may be causing a miss, or something like that!! what ever it is,,, its specific to those two cylinders, be it in the ecu, or what ever else!! try to check those parts that are indevidualy for those cylinders!!
